MAKSUDA IQBAL NIPA

Maksuda Iqbal Nipa is a painter who developed an abstract idiom in reference to nature. Born in Dhaka in 1975, she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, and a Master of Education in Fine Art from Aichi University of Education, Japan. She has become known for her evocative paintings that use colour as the primary component. Her work transcends nationality and cultural identity, sending viewers on a journey of introspection and discovery. Her work has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions across the world, including at the National Museum of Bangladesh, the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, the Toyota Municipal Art Museum in Toyota, Japan, and the Las Vegas Art Museum, USA. Nipa's last solo exhibition was held in 2023 at the Edge Gallery. She has received numerous awards and grants from Japan, China, and her home country, Bangladesh, for her contribution to the arts.
