TAJUDDIN AHMED
Tajuddin's journey as a painter began during the 1970s when the nascent art scene was going through a transformation in the newly independent country. He completed his major in drawing and painting at the then Institute of Fine Arts, now Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. Currently living and working in Toronto, Canada, Tajuddin's art is not just an object but an embodiment of the human spirit. Tajuddin's artistic prowess has been widely celebrated at home and abroad. He had solo exhibitions at prestigious galleries such as Tivoli Art Gallery in Dhaka, Alliance Française de Dhaka, and the Dutch Club in Dhaka. He has also exhibited in international galleries such as Gallery 23 in Harlem, the Netherlands, and the Adzak International Arts Space in Paris, France. Tajuddin has also participated in more than fifty group exhibitions, including the 'Painters Contemporary du Bangladesh' in Paris, the 'Contemporary Painting Exhibition' in Islamabad. The Honourable Mention Award Tajuddin received at the Saju Art Gallery, Dhaka in 2000, is a testament to his dedication to his practice. He exhibited his works at the Edge Gallery in the year 2016 at grand solo exhibition.
